Biography
Lucia Modugno (Bari, July 9, 1932) is an Italian actress, theater director, and writer. She made her film debut in 1959 with Il generale Della Rovere by Rossellini and has acted in both auteur and genre films, working with directors such as Risi, Scola, Corbucci, and Bava. On television, she appeared in dramas like Anna Karenina and Il segno del comando. On stage, she performed with renowned actors and, since 1980, has led her own theater company, directing plays by authors such as Moravia, Shaw, and Feydeau, often adapting them into musicals. Among her latest productions are Cose turche (2009) and L’Occhio di Eros. From 2009 to 2022, she made cameo appearances in films and TV series directed by Muccino, Avati, and others. In 2022, she joined the main cast of Home Sweet Rome, a new series by Hannah Montana creator Michael Poryes. She has published five books: two on show business, two novels, and a novelized essay.
