Biography
He has starred in many films in his long career. Recent films include Dark Blue World, Shark in the Head and Handcuffs. He also plays the lead role in Menzel's adaptation of Hrabal's I Served the King of England. He is also famous for his roles in TV series such as 30 Cases of Major Zeman and Hospital on the Edge of Town. He has also appeared in many TV shows such as Maybe the Magician Will Come or the improvisational Russian Roulette as a well-known comedy duo with Jiří Lábus. Together they also made the long-running radio improvisation series The Tlučhořovi, which reached eight hundred episodes in November 2007, and the successful TV show Zeměkoule. A species of shoebill (Cychrus kaiseri) is named after him, which he discovered together with entomologist and neurosurgeon Vladimir Benes in the summer of 2004 in Asia. From 1980 to 2005, his wife was the Czech actress Naďa Konvalinková. Since 2020, his wife has been the singer-songwriter Dáša Vokatá.
